what is a cavity filter Jun 28, 2024

Cavity filter is a kind of microwave filter with resonant cavity structure, and its working principle is based on the fact that a cavity can be equated to an inductor in parallel with a capacitor, thus forming a resonant stage to realize the microwave filtering function. This kind of filter structure is solid, stable and reliable performance, with small size, moderate Q value, high end parasitic passband is far away and good heat dissipation and other characteristics. Therefore, cavity filters are very common in applications such as communication base stations, which are mainly used to solve the interference problems between different frequency bands and different forms of wireless communication systems. Cavity filters are cut from the metal as a whole, and their quality factors, coupling coefficients and other parameters have a significant impact on the filtering characteristics of the filter.

Cavity filters are flexible in design and can be designed according to the user's requirements for specifications and installation methods to meet most of the requirements of the operating environment, such as -55℃ to +85℃ temperature range of stable and reliable performance. Typical applications of cavity filters include frequency selective filtering in circuits and electronic high-frequency systems, as well as in aviation, aerospace, communications, radio and television, and various electronic test equipment.

Yun Micro, as the professional manufacturer of rf passive components, can offer the cavity filters up 40GHz,which include band pass filter, low pass filter, high pass filter, band stop filter.
